Legacy Taekwon-Do Head Instructor, Master Franca Facciolo is honoured and pleased to host a Fundraising Tournament Honouring a True Life Hero: Jackson White, which will take place on Saturday February 11th, 2012 at Holy Name Catholic Elementary School, 2585 King Road, King City, ON, L7B 1L6. The tournament fee is $35.00 per competitor for 1 or 2 events. This tournament is open to all students ages 3 17 years old. All belts up to 4th Dan are welcome to compete in sparring and patterns. All registration forms are to be returned to Master Facciolo no later than Thursday February 9th, 2012. Please make all cheques payable to Legacy Taekwon-Do.
At 4 months old Jack was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and at 3 years old he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma; a deadly childhood cancer. Over the past 12 years Jack has battled with both diseases and lost his battle on October 14th, 2011. Jack was a student of Legacy Taekwon-Do from November 2006 March 2008. His smile brightened the classroom and his dedication and determination was inspiring. He taught us that anyone is able to rise above all obstacles. The tournament proceeds will be donated to Camp Oochigeas. Camp Oochigeas offers year round programs for children affected by childhood cancer in Muskoka, at SickKids Hospital, at Ooch Downtown facility in Toronto and in the community. Camp Oochigeas provides fun and meaningful experiences to approximately 800 children affected by cancer each year at no cost to their families.
